S.E. has not issued a sound bank
for the SE-1/SE-1X since November of 2001. It's been too long––and
we're sorry. OK, we're kinda sorry... with the introduction of our new NovaMusik partnered synth, the "RED EYE" came two fresh sets of patch banks. As you might have read earlier from the patches page, Bank 5 "INFARED" is the lovechild of a most brilliant sound designer who will continue to remain nameless, due to reasons that must also remain veiled. This man knows his Arps and Junos and his Techno. Very clever and inspiring setttings (that I wish I had dreamed up), make "patch work" essential.
Bank 6 "DIADEMER" features the work of Jason Samonik, who had produced some amazing all-omega demos for NovaMusikand, and yours truly (Marc St. Regis). It pulses with LFOs locked to clock; grinding massive basses; detuned leads; moody "orchestrals"; and some haunting FX. Jason started this bank and I came in (at the end) just to edit and plain got carried away: a direct result of my tutelage with the Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan's vintage Roland, Arp, and kooky Crumar synths, and dude's programming smartness.
